INDIAN CREEK GOLF CLUB Lakes Course (972-466-9850)
Texas Golf Course Review
General information
Indian Creek Golf Club in Carrolton just north of Dallas features 36 holes of recently renovated championship golf, highlighted by generous fairways and large undulating greens. Designs featuring doglegs, ponds, mature trees and consistent playing conditions make this one of the top ten ranked public golf facilities in the Metroplex.
Both golf courses are serviced by a clubhouse that features a pro shop which has been ranked in the top five in the DFW area by Avid Golfer Magazine, plus 19th Hole Bar & Grill that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The property can host outings and events of up to 125 people indoors or up to 200 guests in the covered outdoor pavilion. There is a full practice facility with targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, and putting/chipping green. Individual and group lessons and clinics of all types are offered.
On course yardages are posted on the cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and sprinkler heads on the fairways are measured to the center of the green on all par fours and fives. 150 yard stakes are also positioned in the center of the fairways, and pin placement information is indicated on the scorecards. Hole diagram/yardage guides are also available.
Lakes Course
The Lakes Course at Indian Creek is the longer and more challenging of the two layouts, and features 4 sets of tee areas that play to distances and slopes measuring 7235 yards/135 slope, 6775 yards/131 slope, 6217 yards/125 slope, and 5038 yards with a slope of 110 from the forward tees. The terrain on this layout is markedly different from that on the Lakes Course, as the fairways are very undulating and will leave golfers with many uneven lies.
Ponds and lakes will challenge the tee shots and/or approaches on 16 of the 18 holes, and 33 sand bunkers also provide aesthetics and difficulty. The sand traps here are often spacious and penal in their strategic locations. The green complexes feature some undulating putting surfaces as well, but like the Lakes course there usually is ample recovery room for those missing on the approach.
Indian Creek presents two distinctive layouts, a comprehensive practice facility, full service clubhouse, and friendly service. The rate structure makes this one of the regions best golf values. For more info, visit our page for the Creek Course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
