BRIDLEWOOD GOLF CLUB (972-355-4800)
Texas Golf Course Review
Bridlewood Golf Club in Flower Mound just NE of Dallas is a beautifully designed 18-hole championship course that winds through a rich, upscale residential community. Designed by D.A. Weibring, this wonderfully manicured layout features Cato-Crenshaw bent grass greens and sculpted fairways and bunkers that help create a rewarding golf experience for all levels of players.
On property is a gorgeous 12,000 square foot clubhouse with full service pro shop, locker rooms with showers for men and women, lounge & dining room (serving breakfast and lunch) plus banquet and outing facilities that can service up to 275 guests. There is a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, and large putting green. Each golf cart is equipped with Pro Link GPS, which supplies accurate yardages from tee to pin as well as hole diagrams.
Additionally, there are yardage blocks on the fairways and cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and 150 yard stakes are positioned in the center of the fairways of all par fours and fives. Daily pin placements sheets indicate the hole locations on these large, mildly undulating bent grass putting surfaces. Ball and club washers as well as coolers with ice are also standard on all carts.
There are four sets of tee boxes which play to distances and slopes measuring 7111 yards/130 slope, 6557 yards/123 slope, 6061 yards/117 slope and 5278 yards with a slope of 120 for ladies hitting from the forward tees. As the slope ratings indicate, this is a fair challenge from the tips, but a relaxing and enjoyable experience from the alternate sets.
Golfers will encounter wide fairways along a rolling terrain with some gentle elevation changes from tee to green. The raised green complexes feature mounds and bunkers and some grassy swales, with slopes that may challenge the short games of avid players. Generally, there is significant room for error however. There is a nice variety of holes, which should afford most gofers with the opportunity to use every club in their bag.
Bridlewood has been awarded 4 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play - a worth evaluation. For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
