TIERRA VERDE GOLF CLUB at The Reserve (972-299-6837)
Texas Golf Course Review
Tierra Verde Golf Club in Arlington - opened for play in 1998, is a unique collaboration between the city of Arlington, renowned designers Graham and Parks and Audubon International. Stately trees and tall native grasses frame a terrain that provides a variety of natural settings resulting in a nice mix of open and tightly tree lined golf holes.
The rolling topography features sculpted fairways and challenging green complexes that are affected by strategically placed sand bunkers (49 in total) and beautiful water features (hazards in play on 8 holes in some shape or form). The course is the first course in Texas and first municipal course in the world to be certified as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary!
The golf facilities at Tierra Verde also include an outstanding learning center with a lighted driving range, 3 practice holes, a practice bunker for fairway shots, and a large putting and chipping green complex. Lessons from PGA and LPGA instructors are available. The Mediterranean style clubhouse includes a fully stocked pro shop with club-fitting and the latest equipment, attire and accessories available, the Ventana Grill & lounge, plus an outdoor pavilion that serves as host outings and special events.
On course yardage markers are posted on the fairways and cart paths at 100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives), and sprinkler heads are also measured to the center of the green, Pin placement charts mounted on the carts indicate the day's hole locations. It is important to pay close attention to detail, as many of the greens are double tiered with some daunting slopes.
There are five sets of tees that play to distances and slopes measuring 6975 yards/129 slope, 6534 yards/122 slope, 6085 yards/120 slope, 5578 yards with a slope of 131 for women, and 5111 yards with a slope for 119 for ladies hitting from the forward sets.
Tierra Verde offers a fine golf experience for all levels of players, and the rate structure is quite reasonable. We highly recommend a round here. For more info, visit our page for the course, with diredct link to their website by Clicking here.
