Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock just north of Austin is an 18-hole championship course featuring exquisite conditioning from tee to green. This links inspired design plays over a rolling terrain through an upscale residential community, with extensive water features and strategic bunkering. Sculpted tee boxes leading to meandering fairways that invite golfers of all skill levels for an enjoyable golf experience.
Visitors can expect amenities worthy of a top notch facility. The golf carts are equipped with coolers, ball and club washers, rear weather covers, plus Up Link GPS - which provides accurate measurements from tee to the pin, as well as hole diagrams and tips. On course yardage markers are also provided through sprinkler heads that are measured to the center of the green on all par fours and fives.
The clubhouse includes a pro shop plus nicely furnished restaurant/lounge with outdoor patio. Practice facilities are extensive, with a spacious targeted grass range, short game area for chipping plus sand bunker, and large putting green. Five sets of tee boxes play to distances and slopes measuring 7039 yards/140 slope, 6637 yards/138 slope, 6250 yards/130 slope, 5099 yards/123 slope and 3744 yards with a slope of 104 form the short tees.
As these slopes indicate, this can be a challenging experience, especially if the wind is up. Most of the holes have an open design with lots of room off the tee, but with enough trouble in the form of ponds, sand traps and mounding. The green complexes are often quite protected with bunkers, and slopes with swales and collection areas can make getting up and down difficult.
The putting surfaces are Tif Eagle - one of the best strains of turf in the business. These surfaces are large and mildly undulating - land in regulation and good scores can be had. There is a good variety in hole design so golfers will have to use a full repertoire of chips and pitches to be successful. This course features some beautiful par threes, and the finishing holes on both sides are memorable - both with ponds situated greenside.
