GOLF CLUB AT CIRCLE C (512-288-4297)

Texas Golf Course Review 4/07/07

The Golf Club at Circle C

The Golf Club at Circle C in SW Austin is a Jay Morrish 18-hole championship design known for its great playing conditions and excellent service. Visitors will be impressed with the Texas Style charm and character displayed in the manicured grounds that surround the clubhouse. This property features a unique garden/sitting area, which compliments a cozy outdoor patio. The pine fencing that outlines each hole is also a unique touch.

Also on property is a clubhouse with pro shop and restaurant/lounge serving lunch items, snacks and beverages. The beer garden has a canopy which makes it the perfect spot for outings and tournament events - of up to 150 people. Practice facilities consist of a grass range plus putting and chipping greens.

There are 46 sand bunkers - many of them deep and high lipped - penal in nature. Most are located greenside but some are also strategically situated near the landing zones on the fairways. Golfers will encounter ample, well manicured fairways over a mildly rolling terrain. Most are tree lined, but there is some room for error

The green complexes house large undulating putting surfaces, are slightly raised, and provide significant room for recoveries and up & down opportunities. Water comes into play on just 4 holes, one of the front and 3 on the back nine. On our early spring visit, we found the course to be in excellent shape from tee to green!

Four sets of tee boxes play to distances and slopes measuring 6855 yards/130 slope, 6313 yards/125 slope, 5678 yards/123 slope and 5215 yards with a slope of 120 from the forward tees. As these ratings indicate - this course is challenging enough for the avid golfers, yet user friendly for the novice. On course, golfers will find yardage markers at 100, 150 and 200 yards, plus sprinkler heads that are measured tot eh center of the green on all par fours and fives.
